The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion: Fake News or Chaos Master Plan?

fake-news

Today’s in-tray serves a fascinating entree to a document debated widely as either fake or real. Either way, its a fascinating read or listen and if you ever made a career change decision to become an evil – doer I am sure it would be a primary text.

Wikipedia holds the distinct view the document is a fraudulent fake;

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion (Russian: Протоколы сионских мудрецов) or The Protocols of the Meetings of the Learned Elders of Zion is an antisemitic fabricated text purporting to describe a Jewish plan for global domination. The forgery was first published in Russia in 1903, translated into multiple languages, and disseminated internationally in the early part of the 20th century. According to the claims made by some of its publishers, the Protocols are the minutes of a late 19th-century meeting where Jewish leaders discussed their goal of global Jewish hegemony by subverting the morals of Gentiles, and by controlling the press and the world’s economies.

Henry Ford funded printing of 500,000 copies that were distributed throughout the U.S. in the 1920s. The Nazis sometimes used the Protocols as propaganda against Jews; it was assigned by some German teachers, as if factual, to be read by German schoolchildren after the Nazis came to power in 1933,[1] despite having been exposed as fraudulent by The Times of London in 1921. It is still widely available today in numerous languages, in print and on the Internet, and continues to be presented by some proponents as a genuine document.

However, for a document purporting to be in existence for over a century and describing remarkably the state of controlled world chaos, the document deserves examination and comment by the readership. If, as the wikileaks editor claims its  a fake than its a most elaborate fake and for what purpose?

If one is to examine The Time of London 1921, the wikipedia entry is a bit naughty as the article makes a claim of plagiarism not fraudulence, and so one must go further down the rabbit warren to learn its origins and purpose.

In this London Times article, reporter Philip Graves compared passages from Maurice Joly’s Dialogue in Hell Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu (1864) side-by-side with the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in order to prove that the Protocols was plagiarized. Other investigations revealed that one chapter of a Prussian novel, Hermann Goedsche’s Biarritz (1868), also “inspired” the Protocols. Times (London), August 17, 1921.
